John Kim, Former Ryder Transportation and Logistics Sales Executive, Appointed National Sales Director, PosiCharge

MONROVIA, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Aug. 17, 2007--AeroVironment, Inc. (AV) (NASDAQ: AVAV), a leader in unmanned aircraft systems and efficient electric energy systems, today announced that John Kim, former Ryder Transportation and Logistics Director of National Sales, has joined its PosiCharge Systems management team as Director of Sales.

Kim, who has more than 22 years of sales, marketing and strategic planning experience, has held various senior management positions at Ryder, Cessna Aircraft Co., and Bombardier Aerospace.

"John's depth of experience in supply chain management and logistics will be valuable in helping operations managers understand - and monetize - the advantages of our fast charging systems," said Pat Dellario, vice president and general manager of PosiCharge Systems.

Kim, who was Ryder's sales leader in 2005 and was inducted into the Ryder Roundtable for his sales excellence, believes that PosiCharge technology will influence the way logistics professionals approach materials handling.

"I am delighted to join the PosiCharge team and look forward to educating logistics thought-leaders on the productivity benefits of our solutions. PosiCharge is a more productive, safer, and cost-saving alternative to battery changing, still a common practice in distribution centers and manufacturing plants today. It's exciting to be part of the team that is changing the way we think about moving materials, especially in today's green, energy-conscious environment," Kim said.

Kim holds a bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering from McGill University and a master's degree in business administration from Friends University. He is based in AV's Monrovia, Calif. headquarters.

About PosiCharge

PosiCharge fast charge systems allow users to eliminate the battery room and its associated challenges, thereby recovering run time, enhancing productivity, optimizing assets, and improving worker safety. PosiCharge fast charges each battery in the vehicle during scheduled breaks, so the battery never leaves the vehicle. The result is instant productivity improvement, a cleaner and safer work environment, and a streamlined workflow that no longer stops for battery changing. With proprietary technology that safeguards batteries by customizing each charge, PosiCharge can actually extend a battery's useful life, further optimizing operations. PosiCharge has been supporting high-velocity Fortune and Global 500 facilities for more than six years. PosiCharge is an AeroVironment, Inc. business.
